The University of Florida offers excellent research opportunities for students seeking careers in soil and water science related to agriculture and natural resource management. The Soil and Water Science Department (SWSD) is affiliated with the UF's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE). The mission of the department is to conduct basic and applied research in soil- and water-related problems associated with sustaining Florida's agriculture and protecting natural resources.
