About the Course

This course is designed to teach graduate students about academic writing, specifically focused on research proposals, theses, dissertations, manuscripts, grant proposals, and CVs. The course was developed to teach students about aspects of academic writing that are not normally part of the graduate curriculum but are necessary to succeed.

Credits: 3
Semesters Offered: Spring
Prerequisites: It is recommended that students take this course after completing at least one semester of graduate study as students may not have sufficient material to complete the writing project if just starting their program. This course is specifically designed for academic writing and not as well suited for individuals not conducting research.
