Research at the Environmental Soil Chemistry Lab includes:
- the management of nutrients, pesticides, and wastes;
- soil quality and ecosystem services; and
- wetlands and aquatic systems.
Specifically, the lab conducts research on phosphorus management and the development of cost-effective technologies for the protection of water bodies, nutrient management and soil carbon sequestration in agroforestry systems, and the benefits and challenges of land application of biochar for soil and environmental management.
