Welcome to the Sustainable Nutrient Management Systems Lab
Our overarching goal is to optimize nutrient management to make agroecosystems more sustainable. We work primarily on nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon cycling in diverse systems – vegetables, agronomic row crops, pastures, citrus. Our work focuses on how specific practices (e.g., cover crops) and different systems (e.g., integrated crop-livestock systems) affect nutrient cycling and soil health. Our ultimate goal is to develop agroecosystems that maximize crop productivity and profitability, benefit soil fertility and health, and minimize environmental impacts.
